I love trade books! More importantly, my students love them. My favorite life science/music fusion series is the First Steps in Music Folk Song series. If you'd like to use any of these but aren't sure you can sing the melody, I can help. Favorites in my classroom are Over in the Meadow and Momma, Buy Me a China Doll.
Sometimes local libraries have book sales of items they need to get rid of. This is another good way to find cheap trade books, particularly for elementary school ages.
